U.S. President Donald J. Trump this week-shouted out Kanye West during his speech at the NRA Convention (The National Rifle Association of America) … for giving him a boost in the polls with black people.
This strange and unusual “bromance,” between Trump and Kanye began this last Tuesday evening-when Kanye took to twitter to express his “Love,” for Trump. (see example below)
Kanye Tweets his “Love” for Donald Trump:
Here is the series of tweets from Tuesday evening:
You don’t have to agree with trump but the mob can’t make me not love him. We are both dragon energy. He is my brother. I love everyone. I don’t agree with everything anyone does. That’s what makes us individuals. And we have the right to independent thought.
It seems the timing was suspect as well as on point due to the fact that-Trump was making a keynote appearance at the annual NRA Convention and according to various reports-West has an album soon to be released.
In any case, for the record-while boasting of his support among African American voters, Donald Trump made some questionably false, alarming, as well as misleading statements: (For Example)
Fact Busters have shown that -Trump’s citing a recent Reuters poll that says 22% percent of blacks approve of the job he’s doing as President — doubling his last approval rating of 11% percent. It’s unclear from the poll how black females feel.
President Trump on Friday thanked Kanye West during his speech at the National Rifle Association’s (NRA) annual convention, giving the artist credit for his rising popularity in the polls among African-Americans-when many African-Americans don’t care to follow Mr.West! Just saying!
Trump appeared to be referring to numbers from a Reuters tracking poll that noted an 11-point rise in support among black men between April 22 and April 29. Reuters wasted no time now saying, Mr. Trump openly misrepresented the poll.
Furthermore, the poll shows that the amount of black men who said they had “mixed feelings” about President Trump increased from 1.5% to 7.1% in the same time period.
Most polls show no significant change in Black support for President Donald J. Trump- The Pew Research Center polls have consistently reported that only 13 percent of African Americans approve of Trump compare that of Barack Obama’s approval rating with black voters, which was around 86% until the end of his presidency.
Nice try President Donald Trump but your half-hearted attempt to pretend as if you care about black people-by attempting to engage in some kind of discourse with Kanye West, and others won’t work. How about engaging the people in a serious dialog, about why you feel the need to play games.
